Progesterone and miscarriage

Hello Affiliate

"KA" writes...

"I suspect I am lacking in progesterone because of the several
symptoms I've encountered over the past three years, including two
miscarriages. I brought it up with my OB/Gyn and he seemed
defensive. If he is unwilling to check it, is it safe for me to
just start the therapy on my own? What are the risks in doing that?
We are trying for a baby and would like to prevent another
miscarriage. Do you have to be tested for lack of progesterone to
start therapy? Thanks"

I reply...

"Dear K, Many thanks for your email. It's a pity about your
Ob/Gyn, but not unusual! They tend to be very drug orientated, and
progesterone falls into a grey realm for them. Although we are
supplying several doctors and therapists with bulk orders, others
are reluctant to acknowledge it's benefits. It sounds to me that
you are lacking in progesterone, in view of the miscarriages. It's
not necessary to have tests done, the symptoms are enough to go on.
I will attach a chapter scanned from Dr Dalton's book on pregnancy,
so that you can make an informed decision.

I would suggest you start with a dose of about 2.5ml/day. Keep
using it according to your cycle, until you know you're pregnant,
then increase the amount to 5ml (1 teaspoon), using it every day
without a break."

Till next time.
